Plunging into the Deep End

Entering a new year, and here we are waving goodbye to January already! Although I've spent a good chunk of the month dealing with challenges, it turned out to be a month filled with creativity. I've been brewing up loads of new ideas for my art and digital element shop.

When I'm working on elements for my shop, my goal is to create collections that will be handy in the future as well. These are like creative tools I can quickly turn to whenever I need them. For instance, there's the Mixed Media collection and the Sketch and Ink brushes which I dip into frequently. In February I will roll out a water element collection for the KAIZEN group and will then be made available in my shop on the 1st of March. It's a bunch of water special effects against a black background, perfect for crafting water or underwater scenes. Towards the end of this post, I'll be sharing a short video to show off these brushes in action.

This month, my main focus has been on creating art images to keep my creativity flowing and sculpting some male figures for my shop. The male figures will first make their appearance in the KAIZEN group and then also be available to everyone on my site come March.

Take a peek below, and you'll see I've taken a plunge into the deep end, starting the year with some conceptual imagery. Through underwater scenes and the objects I use, I'm trying to convey a deeper meaning in my art. Stay tuned for the video, a sneak peek into my process with a layers speed video.

If you're just starting with Photoshop, I really recommend Sebastian Michaels' Photo Artistry Course. It's a great way to learn the skills to express yourself through image art.

Mysterious Encounter, Submersed, Surender

Lately, I've been really drawn to the Box Art effect. I've been playing around with the concept of telling a story within a box frame, kind of like those 3D box sculptures you often see in galleries, also known as assemblage art. It's been a fun experiment to capture the essence of a narrative within the confines of a box. There is also a brand new Model Head collection been made available in my shop on request of fellow artists. Enjoy! :)
